WhatsApp service was interrupted worldwide for an hour worldwide. The service went down for its 2 billion users yesterday. The problem was application would open but the user would only saw a connecting loop without being able to use any service of WhatsApp. The issue was noticed at around 4 PM ET and last for an hour long. During that period of time users were unable to send or receive the message.
WhatsApp claimed that they had quickly solved the issue and says sorry for the inconvenience caused to its users due to the disruption. They said the issue was originated due to an internal update on the WhatsApp server.
The popularity of the WhatsApp has been growing exponentially and the owner company Facebook has revealed this earlier year that WhatApp has touch he benchmark of 2 billion users, which has touched the 1 billion users milestone in 2016.
This is the first major issue experienced by the WhatsApp in more than a year, as WhatsApp rarely experienced service outages. Last time WhatApp service went down along with Facebook and Instagram for about 2 hours before services resumed.
